So, you've decided to get married on Halloween? Gasp! How scary! Not really. Well, not if you don't want it to be. There are many ways to approach the Halloween wedding party to incorporate the theme of Halloween or just to be on October 31st.

A Halloween themed wedding could be a great deal of fun for your guests, as well as a lot of fun to plan. It's not often done and comes with a range of possibilities. You could stay with a standard Halloween theme, orange and black, but with a little bit of an elegant flair.

Say, for example, the bride may decide to still wear white, but with trimmings on her dress of black and orange. The bridesmaids could be in black or orange with trimmings of either, with flowers all about in different shades of orange trimmed in black ribbon.

The groom and grooms men would stay in black tuxes with orange cummerbunds and the wedding itself could remain still quite traditional with Halloween colors. However, the reception is where the real Halloween wedding party would take off. That might carry some tricks and treats…a few ghosts and goblins…something to make it a bit scary, gothic, or keep the guests on their toes.

Even the music and the food could reflect the evening in the couples favorite way from something scary in a traditional way or a good ole fashioned metal band, while the food took on some creative shapes and colors.

Another idea for the Halloween wedding party is to go with a theme. Gothic weddings are somewhat popular with lots of black and red, Celtic crosses and pale faces. Very dramatic. An evening wedding is best here, and everyone must be in black…maybe even the bride herself. The wedding would be by candlelight and the only flowers around would be deep blood red roses.

This Halloween wedding party would go off in some sort of rockin' style for certain with a great DJ spinning trance and industry metal, red wine flowing in pewter cups, and something scary would be certainly in store for guests at the party. Possibly a built in haunted house or little surprises through out the reception hall.

Themes for a Halloween wedding party are in abundant supply, but you could just get married on October 31st without one. Perhaps acknowledge the day with a little jack-o-lantern on the napkins or some Halloween treats at the party, but keeping the rest to traditional fare.

If you wanted to, you could incorporate colors into flowers and dresses, or just into the food. Or, perhaps, maybe make a few remarks in silly toasts or have activities at the party. It does make for a great play on words. This might be a good wedding to have early, however, even a day wedding.

Folks might be itching to slip on costumes and get their scare on, or simply have little ones to take out trick-or-treating. Anyway you do it, the beautiful thing is that it's your day and you can make it as scary as you wanna be. The marriage part is scary enough, might as well have fun with the Halloween wedding party.
