Whether you are hosting a kid Halloween party or an adult Halloween party, Halloween party favors are a great way to thank guest for attending and to leave a favorable lingering impression when thy have gone. Halloween party favors come in many forms, some being more suitable for a kid Halloween party and others more suitable for an adult Halloween party. This article will cover several Halloween party favor do-it-yourself craft projects for both.

One really easy Halloween party favor do-it-yourself craft project particularly suitable for a kid Halloween party is ghost necklaces. Simply pour ghost shape gobs of glue over waxed paper, allow to dry for a couple of days, create eyes with a black felt-tip marker and punch hole in the top and pull black yarn through it. If you need to speed up the curing time and make the ghost pendants more durable, you can fire the glue globs in an oven. For an extra added touch, dap some glow-in-the dark paint on the ghost pendents.

A Halloween party favor do-it-yourself craft project that's suitable for a kid Halloween party, can provide a pre-party activity to accommodate different arrival times. One such activity is creating trick-or-treat bags from solid color gift bags or even plain brown paper bags from the local grocery store. Another craft activity to consider as a pre-party activity is placemats made of construction paper. After each placemat is decorated, cover it with clear contact paper. You should provide markers, Halloween themed stickers and cutouts and newspapers and magazines for cutting out pictures along with glue for pasting them them.

One other pre-party activity to keep participants of a kid Halloween party occupied is creating Halloween party favor bags. You can choose to allow the guests to create free-form favor bags or duplicate favor bags. On page 35 of Mary Engelbreit's Autumn Craft Book is a picture showing "construction paper, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and pompons work a whimsical magic on plain old lunch bags." You can provide such materials for your young guests.

If you prefer something more structural for your Halloween party bag pre-party activity consider the bat favor bags project presented in Hocus Pocus! Halloween Crafts For A Spooktacular Holiday. The project plan provides a materials list, detailed instructions and a bat pattern for transferring the image to black flocked paper as called for in the materials list. For a kid Halloween party, you may want to use something less stylish, like black posterboard or construction paper.

The bat favor bags project calls for black paper, black gift bags and black glitter. As can be seen in the project photo, the result is an elegant and stylish favor bag that would be most appropriate for an upscale adult Halloween party. And to add a bit of childlike inversion to the affair, you could set up a table with the necessary materials so guests can create their own bat Halloween party favor bags.

Two more Halloween party favor projects presented in Hocus Pocus! Halloween Crafts For a Spooktacular Holiday that are most suitable to an adult Halloween party are haunted house party favors and Halloween party crackers. The project for the haunted house provides a pattern for creating a 3-D paper house. "Each paper house conceals a small paper-mache box that can be with filled wrapped candies or other small treats." (Hocus Pocus!, 27)

The Halloween Party crackers are a Halloween party favor that also serve as a noise maker. Each cracker consists of a length of mailing tube filled with assorted candies, confetti or small gifts, all wrapped with decorative paper and a snap. The snap is a narrow paper strip, about 11" long, that pops when it is pulled from both ends. The pop tears the paper wrapping and also elicits a delightfully surprised reaction from party guest.(Hocus Pocus!, 34)

Use these Halloween party favors do-it-yourself craft projects to send your guests home with a memento that will keep them impressed long after they have parted the scene. As you have seen, some can provide a fun, entertaining in-progress activity to accommodate different arrival times. Many more ideas and projects can be found in the books listed in the sources section below.

A relatively recent development in the long tradition of Halloween is an association with images representing any kind of frightening monster. Theme Halloween party decorations now include many familiar monsters; Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Werewolf, and Dracula obviously being the most familiar images. Here are a few monster theme Halloween party ideas to help you set the stage for a monstrous holiday event.

One simple monster theme Halloween party invitation idea is to use inexpensive black paper eye masks. The inside of these types of mask is usually white. Write your invitation copy on the inside of the masks. Another option that my be a little more expensive is to use white hockey masks similar to the one used in the Halloween movies by the Michael Myers character. Mail in a padded envelope.

If you would rather avoid using props for your monster theme Halloween party invitations, you can simply write or type your invitation copy on Halloween theme paper. You can usually find Halloween theme paper in office supply stores during the weeks leading up to Halloween. Alternatively, you use white paper and add images with rubber stamps or clip-art.

If you are hosting an indoor monster theme Halloween party, consider tenting the party room. Use a black navy blue or purple cloth to create a dark, foreboding atmosphere. To tent a room, attach the cloth to the ceiling in the center of the room and in the corners. A parachute from an army/navy surplus store or one or two king-size bed sheets will do the trick.

Another option for decorating the ceiling for your monster theme Halloween party is bats. Creating bats is easy and cheap. Just cut them out of black construction paper, black flocked paper or black felt. Hang them in bunches in every corner that you can. To give the impression of bats flying into the room, try this idea. Hang small bats on small lengths of clear fishing line close to the walls in the corner. As you work your way out away from the wall, use progressively larger bats and longer lengths of clear fishing line. At the outer most edges, hang two or three realistic artificial bats for added affect.

Balloons are another option for covering the ceiling for your monster theme Halloween party. Again, use black, dark blue and purple colored balloons. For a spooky atmosphere, cut strips of black ribbon in varying lengths. Fill each balloon with helium and tie it off. Then tie a black ribbon to the end of each balloon. At the other end, attach a bat. Let the balloons float to the ceiling with the bats dangling below.

Phony tombstones and coffins are other monster theme Halloween party decorations you can employ. To create phony tombstones, use styrofoam sheets cut into tombstone shapes. Paint them with Fleck Stone spray paint to give your tombstones the look of real stone. Use a broad tip black permanent marker to write humorous epitaphs on each one. Then give each tombstone a clear acrylic topcoat finish. Use wood dowels to stick the tombstones in the ground near the guest entrance. You can also piece them in corners of the party room.

Add coffins to your monster theme Halloween party. They don't have to be life size coffins, although that would definitely make a dramatic impression. You can use small coffins to create the desired effect. Small four foot coffins can be cut from one four by eight sheet of plywood. Cardboard coffin-making kits are available from Hallmark stores at Halloween time. You may be able to find them at large party supply stores as well.

Don't forget spider webs in decorating for your monster theme Halloween party. Use decorative spider webbing everywhere throughout the party area. String spider webs around lamps, light fixtures, potted trees and so forth. Another decorative accent is skull and crossbones. Create a dozen or so skull and crossbones using white construction paper. Hang them from stairway railings, mantels and potted tree branches. Tape them to doors, walls and windows.

Do you want to make a spooktacular impression when your guests arrive at your door? If so, get some black, white and red crepe paper. Cover the front door with the black. Cut out pointy teeth from the white and glue them onto the black crepe paper in the form of an open mouth. To add the perfect finishing touch, glue red crepe-paper crops to give the appearance of blood dropping from the mouth.

A monster theme Halloween party is a great theme for an older kids Halloween party or an adult Halloween party. Use the ideas in this article for instruction and inspiration to help you host a memorable holiday event. More ideas can be found in the books listed in the sources section below.

Decorating a pumpkin for Halloween has been a long tradition that originated from hollowed out turnips being used to cradle candles for commemorating souls in purgatory. The most familiar form of this tradition is the carved-out pumpkin lit with a candle to create a jack-o'-lantern. Nowadays, decorating a pumpkin for Halloween can take many forms other than a candle-lit jack-o'-lantern. This article will examine some of these other alternatives.

Decorating A Pumpkin For Halloween: Creating Faces Without Carving is a post from: Halloween costumes n decorations

If decorating a pumpkin for Halloween by adding some kind of face to it is your desire, there are a few ways to go about it without carving. The first thing to do is create a design or use an already made design. Then transfer the design to the pumpkin either by cutting out the pattern and drawing around it. Or place transfer paper between the pumpkin and the design and trace the design with a pencil. A third method is to create a transparency of the design, project it onto the pumpkin and trace the design with a pencil or marker.

The next step in decorating a pumpkin for Halloween can take several different avenues. You can decide to use enamel paint. First, paint the liner black and let dry. Then, paint in the outlined areas with the designed colors. Another possibility is to paint the design on the pumpkin using metallic fingernail polish. If you aren't particularly keen on using paint, you can color the pumpkin using permanent markers.

You can also try decorating a pumpkin for Halloween using pins. Once you transfer the design to a pumpkin, press black push pins into the pumpkin following the outline. Use other colored push pins to fill in the outlines or just use all black push pins or simply stop with only the outlined design. You can also cut design pieces from crafting foam, construction paper, flocked paper or felt and pin them in place on the pumpkin.

Using glitter is another way of decorating a pumpkin for Halloween. After transferring the design to the pumpkin, paint within the lines with clear drying white glue or decoupage medium and sprinkle it with glitter. To use more than one color of glitter, allow one area to dry before applying another color. To finish, you can outline the design with glue and sprinkle with black glitter.

An example of decorating a pumpkin for Halloween using glitter can be seen in the project photo of a glittered pumpkin basket in Hocus Pocus! Halloween Crafts For A Spooktacular Holiday. For this project, a 10" artificial carvable pumpkin was used rather than a real pumpkin. First, the facial features were transferred onto the pumpkin. Then the facial features were recessed slightly by cutting away a thin layer of outer skin. Tangerine paint was applied to the entire outer surface of the pumpkin, and then the facial features were painted. Finally, color matched glitter was applied to each painted surface.

Decorating a pumpkin for Halloween using vegetables is another way to create a face on a pumpkin without carving. Get a large pumpkin and stick on various vegetables with toothpicks to create a face: Curly lettuce makes great hair - use lots of it, zucchini slices pinned flat for the eyes (with raisins as pupils); a green bean for the mouth (or use white beans for the teeth - glue them across the front); a beet for the nose (or a chili pepper with the curve going down); and baby squash for ears. (Brokaw & Gilbar, 14)

Try decorating a pumpkin for Halloween using these ideas for adding facial features without carving. Jack-o'-lantern faces on pumpkins is a common Halloween image, but it can be accomplished in uncommon ways to give your pumpkin a different personality. Just remember, since there is no inner light with these techniques, the pumpkin will need some exterior illumination for the face to be visible.

If you want to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween but are bored with the same old jack-o'-lantern face, there are options that you can explore. You can make choices that still include carving or you can decorate the pumpkin in ways that do not involve cutting and carving. When you are ready to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween, consider these ideas.

One way to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween is to make a vase. Cut off the top either straight across or with a more ornate design. Hollow out the pumpkin, fill it with water, and add flowers. Another option is to fill the hollowed out pumpkin with dried flowers and branches of leaves, skipping the need for water. You can enhance the looks of the pumpkin vase by cutting out designs in the sides, such as hearts or diamonds.

You can also decorate a pumpkin for Halloween by simply carving out a design. But instead of carving out the design once, repeat the design around the entire pumpkin. One simple way to do this is with a cookie cutter pattern. Just press the cookie cutter up against the pumpkin and trace it with a felt-tip pen or marker. Try to space the designs evenly for a clean look and choose a simple design that will be easy to carve.

If you intend to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween by carving out designs, here is a tip. Make the cuts at an angle so the inside skin of the pumpkin is visible. Just that alone will enhance the look. But for extra appeal, paint each cut out with tempera, using either the same color or a different color for each one. Then light the pumpkin with a candle or flashlight from the inside. Or place light sticks inside for a colored glow.

Another way to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween that has been hollowed out is to make it into a centerpiece. Once the pumpkin is hollowed out, line the inside with foil or plastic wrap. Then fill the pumpkin with miniature wrapped gifts. Tie each wrapped gift with ribbon. Make sure the ribbon ends are long enough to cascade out of the pumpkin and onto the table. Halloween themed wrapping paper and ribbon can be found at party stores at Halloween time.

Decorate a pumpkin for Halloween by creating a diorama. Instead of cutting the top of the pumpkin, carve out a jagged edge square in the side and hollow it out. Then use the hollowed out pumpkin to create a scene. You can use miniature Halloween toys, doll, animals and so forth placed inside the pumpkin to create the scene. Cut a small hole in the back and use a small flashlight for lighting.

Creating luminaria is another way to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween. Buy a dozen or so medium sized pumpkins. Carve out a shape such as a diamond, heart, rectangle on four sides and hollow out the inside. Finally, place a candle, small flashlight, or light stick inside. If you intend to use candles and you live in an area that tends to get breezy, you may want to carve out designs only on two sides. Use the luminaries to line your walkway and use them in strategic locations in backyard party areas.

As we have seen, to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween does not have to be limited to carving out a soulless, toothless jack-o'-lantern face. You can break from the common and create a delightful holiday decoration that still conveys the Halloween spirit. In some cases, you can create a dual-function Autumn Halloween decoration that can be kept around through Thanksgiving. Find more ideas in the books listed in the sources section below.

Create your own spooky Halloween decoration and be prepared for some ooh’s and aah’s as well as a scream or two! Halloween has different connotations for some people. For many people though, it is just a great time to relax, enjoy the costumes and eat candy! Your spooky Halloween decoration ideas could be just the ticket to add a little something "extra" to the festivities.

One spooky Halloween decoration idea is to create your own mini graveyard on your front lawn. Let your grass get a little scraggly, if you can stand it. You can buy pre-made tombstones made out of styrofoam. Or, make the tombstones yourself out of scrap plywood.

Create a template and trace your tombstone pattern onto the wood and cut it out. Paint the wooden tombstones a gray color. To make it look more authentic, you can purchase spray paint that looks like textured stone.

To finish your graveyard spooky Halloween decoration idea, do a little research on the internet for some epitaphs to write on your tombstone. Or, get creative with some character names. "Plant" your tombstones in the ground. For an extra special touch, drape a skeleton around one of the tombstones.

To greet trick or treaters, create a dummy to prop up near your front door or have it sitting in a chair. This spooky Halloween decoration is easily made from old clothing that can be stuffed with tattered blankets or crumpled newspaper. Use old stuffed gloves to create makeshift hands. A pair of boots or shoes you don’t wear any more is perfect for the feet.

You can make it appear that the dummy has lost his head by laying a pumpkin with a carved face on its side nearby. For more authenticity, attach fake spider webs on the body of the dummy and even the pumpkin head. Throw a few spiders on there along with some fishing worms and you have a great spooky Halloween decoration.

Make your own ghost with an old white bed sheet. Use a ball or some other round object for the head. Drape the sheet over the round object and tie a knot under it to secure the head. Apply some fake blood on your ghost and hang it in a tree with a light shining on it for illumination. For a better effect, use a black light. This spooky Halloween decoration can also be rigged on a pulley system. When unsuspecting trick or treaters walk under your ghost, lower it using your pulley and watch the kids jump!

Part of a spooky Halloween decoration is the atmosphere you create. Play recordings of scary animal sounds, foot stomping noises and doors slamming shut in the entryway of your home. Groaning sounds are effective too. Get some dry ice, put it in water and place in inconspicuous places to produce foggy effects. (This would be perfect for your graveyard scene!) Borrow one of those battery-operated cat toys that just sort of wobbles around. Place it in a box on your porch. Watch the trick or treaters give that jittery box a wide berth!

Have some fun with your creations. Keep in mind your target audience. If it is little children, you might want to keep the fear factor down. For a teen or adult party, kick that "boo" factor up a few notches. Be prepared for laughter and tears with your spooky Halloween decoration.

And for the budget conscious party host, home made cat decorations are very easy to do. Use these cat theme Halloween party ideas to instruct and inspire you in planning fantastic feline festival.

Another option is to simply write or type your invitation on cat themed paper, which yo can buy or make using rubber stamps or clip-art.

You can add a little humor when you mail out the invitations for your cat theme Halloween party. Cut out tail shapes from construction paper. Then paste them onto the back of the envelope in such a way that it looks like the tail got stuck sticking out when you sealed the envelope.

Cat them Halloween party decorations are readily available in all shapes and sizes, but if you want less of a commercial look for your event use these do-it-yourself craft project ideas to make your own. First, select one or more cat-shapes in small, medium and large sizes. Cut out as many as possible. Sprinkle the small cats on tabletops. Hang large and medium sized cats from the ceiling using clear fishing line. Hang some from stairway railings, mantels, and potted tree limbs. Tape some to walls, doors and windows.

Besides cat shapes cut out of colored construction paper, you can decorate for your cat theme Halloween party using paper plates and balloons. Use black paper plates and cut out or paint cat facial features. Use black pipe cleaners for whiskers. Hang the black cat faces from the ceiling, stairway rails, mantels and potted tree limbs with clear fishing line.

You can also create cat faces on balloons. For eyes you can use felt-top markers or googly eyes. Draw the mouth and nose with a felt-top marker. Choose black, orange and yellow balloons, fill them with helium, add the cat faces, and let them float to the ceiling and tie some to chairs, tables and lamps.

There are several lighted cat theme Halloween party decorations you can employ to illuminate walkways and backyard party areas. Buy a dozen or so small pumpkins, either real pumpkins or artificial carvable pumpkins, and carve cat faces in them. Then use them as luminaries. You can also make luminaries from posterboard.

In Mary Engelbreit's Autumn Craft Book, you can see a lively example of a cat theme luminaria along with abridged instructions for creating your own. A third possibility is to create or buy cat theme lanterns.

A barnyard bash theme Halloween party is a perfect idea if you want to forgo the usual macabre motif associated with Halloween. The theme is perfect for parents or groups who want to host an event while eliminating frightening, and what some consider evil, celebration elements. Here are a few barnyard bash theme Halloween party tips to get you started.

Invitations for a barnyard bash theme Halloween party can use a variety of media. One simple idea is to cut barnyard animal shapes from colored construction paper or other stock and paste invitation copy to them. You can use a cookie cutter or several cook cutters in the shape of an animal as a template. Use different colors for different animal shapes for variety.

Another barnyard bash theme Halloween party invitation idea is to type or write the invitation copy inside a small yellow circle, then paste each yellow circle onto a larger piece of white paper. Cut the white paper in to a free form circle. The idea is to create an invitation that looks like egg white and yolk. Then fold the invitations and place them inside white plastic eggs. Mail in a padded envelope or small box with a little yellow raffia.

The natural place to host a barnyard bash theme Halloween party is outdoors, so if you live in an area with a warm climate, you have a distinct advantage. But you can easily create a barnyard indoors. The first decoration item that naturally comes to mind is a hay bale. If available and if you are game, use hay bales to set the stage. You can have guests use the hay bales as seats and tables, so they are both decorative and functional.

Dried cornstalks are another decoration for your barnyard bash theme Halloween party. Stand bunches of dried cornstalks in corners and other strategic locations. Integrate strands of yellow or straw colored raffia with the dried cornstalks for added effect. If available, you can also use bunches of wheat, either alone or in conjunction with bunches of dried cornstalks. You can incorporate western bandanas as skirts for the hay bales and cornstalks.

Other accent items you can use to decorate for your barnyard bash theme Halloween party include dried cobs of corn, autumn leaves (real or artificial), pumpkins, and gourds. Create centerpieces and bouquets with both a barnyard and autumn flair from pomegranates, artichokes, wheat, jade roses, mango calla lillies, pears and red hypericum berries. Decorate thresholds or abors with vines, wheat, grapes, pomegranates and hanging amaranthus. Or you can simply use dried cobs of corn, brown or burgundy ribbon and yellow raffia. And don't forget more western bandanas.

One important decoration item for your barnyard theme Halloween party is the pumpkin. Make copious use of pumpkins of all sizes; which is more effective than using a single pumpkin. Make a scarecrow using old jeans or coveralls, plaid shirt and worn shoes or boots. Use newspaper and straw as stuffing materials. For the head, use a pumpkin with a carved face. An old worn cowboy on top and and a bandana around the neck are perfect finishing touches.

When it comes to food for your barnyard bash theme Halloween party, think picnic. Appetizers can include tortilla chips and salsa, cheese and crackers and potato chips. For main course dishes consider hot dogs, chili, fried or barbequed chicken, garden salad, fruit cocktail and pumpkin bread. Offer sugar cookie pumpkins, chocolate cake, popsicles or candied applies for dessert.

A barnyard bash theme Halloween party is perfect for young kids, but can be adapted to adults. And a large part of the Autumn Halloween decoration can be left in place during the remainder of the Autumn season to serve as decorations for Thanksgiving. Dual-holiday decorations, what a great time saving idea!

Creating Autumn Halloween decorations is a great way to decorate for two holidays and the Autumn season at the same time. Creating dual-function decorations and home accent arrangements is actually easy, with only small or no changes needed after Halloween. Use the following Autumn Halloween decoration ideas to instruct and inspire you.

One Autumn Halloween decoration idea is to create one or more pumpkin scarecrows. To create a pumpkin scarecrow, you stack graduated sizes of pumpkins one on top of another, starting with a very large one on the bottom. Get two same sized pumpkins for the torso. You will use one during the first couple of weeks between October and November, the other you will use for the remaining two or three weeks of November.

In assembling your pumpkin scarecrow Autumn Halloween decoration, insert a stake into each side of the pumpkin that makes the torso. Then, stick a 10" artificial pumpkin on the end of each stake to form the scarecrow's hands. For the pumpkin that makes the head, use a permanent marker, paint, or black tape to create a face. Add raffia, straw, or wheat stems for hair and hold it in place with an old hat. Surround the pumpkin scarecrow with bunches of dried cornstalks or wheat.

Another Autumn Halloween decoration idea is to create a pumpkin centerpiece. For a pumpkin centerpiece that will last from October through November, you should use an artificial pumpkin. In Hocus Pocus! Halloween Crafts For A Spooktacular Holiday is a glittered pumpkin basket project that uses a 10" artificial carvable pumpkin. The entire exterior is painted Tangerine and covered with ultra fine Tangerine glitter. The pumpkin in the project photo also has glittered jack-o'-lantern facial features.

You can adapt the glittered pumpkin basket to create a pumpkin centerpiece Autumn Halloween decoration. Just leave off the jack-o'-lantern facial features. For Halloween you can fill the pumpkin with black shredded paper and plant Halloween theme lollipops in it, as shown in the project photo.

Another option is to fill the pumpkin with minature wrapped gifts. Wrap the gifts with Halloween theme paper and tie each with Halloween them ribbon. Make sure the ribbon ends are long enough to cascade out of the pumpkin and onto the table. After Halloween, fill it with wheat, dried leaves and red hypericum berries.

A third Autumn Halloween decoration that can also be found in Hocus Pocus! Halloween Crafts For A Spooktacular Holiday is a haunted tree decoration. This simple assemblage combines an aged stone urn dripping with Spanish moss with gnarled branch strewn with spider webs, a couple of black crows, and the last surviving leaves of fall. (Hocus Pocus!, 93). The "gnarled branch" is a manzanita branch, which beautifully compliments the fall-colored silk leaves. To make this an appropriate "Autumn only" decoration, simply remove the decorative spider webbing after Halloween.

These are three Autumn Halloween decorations that are relatively easy to create and require little or no alterations to transition from one holiday to the next. Throw in some strategically place pumpkins, gourds, pomegranates, artichokes, jade roses, mango calla lillies, pears, wheat and red hypericum berries after Halloween, and you will be in good shape.

A creepy, crawly spider Halloween decoration provides an authentic touch to any Halloween decor. Whether inside or outside, there are a plethora of choices in your quest for a spooky spider Halloween decoration. For those people with a little fear of crawling eight-legged creatures, just remember that these spider Halloween decorations are not real! Show no fear!

Spider decor comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. From the silly dime store plastic spider rings to the elaborate scary-looking spiders with hairy legs and fat body, your spider Halloween decoration could come in various mediums.

One type of decoration is the window or wall cling. These are like plastic sheets, similar to stickers, with assorted designs and decor on them that your display in your window or on your wall. They are removable and do not damage painted or stained surfaces.

As Halloween draws near your local retail stores will probably start selling window or wall clings. However, their selection may not be as good as what you may find on the internet.

There are some spider Halloween decoration wall clings that would really freak some people out because they look so lifelike. Some wall clings look as if spiders had hacked through the wall and are pouring out of it! Creepy!

Your outdoor spider Halloween decoration could come in a variety of forms. If you tend to bag your clippings after you mow the lawn or you bag raked leaves, fill black trash bags with your clippings and arrange the bags to make your own spider for the lawn. Fill a small black trash bag which will serve as the spider's head. Cut the spider's eyes and mouth out of duct tape or white freezer tape to complete the spider's face. A larger black trash bag needs to be filled to serve as the body of the spider.

Then, you have the fun job of filling eight black trash bags and fashioning them into long spider legs. If you don't have enough clippings to fill the bags, ask your neighbor for their clippings. Or, fill the bags with crumpled newspaper with a few rocks to keep the legs weighted down. You can make this spider Halloween decoration as big as you want!

For the inside of your home, you can "spook up" a food table at your Halloween party with a spider Halloween decoration. Start with your punch bowl. Make ice to float in your punch by putting a plastic fake spider in each cube compartment of your ice trays and filling with water or other liquid. When your ice is ready, float some around your punch. It will look like there are spiders taking a swim!

You can use those cheesy looking plastic spider rings as a napkin ring for paper napkins. Roll your napkins up into a skinny tube and slide it on through a plastic spider ring. Presto – another spider Halloween decoration idea for your table. Recycle old flower pots by sticking twigs and rocks in them. Stretch some fake spider webs across some of the twigs, and then hang fake spiders all over your creation.

Try the same idea, only use jack-o-lanterns. These make for another great spider Halloween decoration for your tabletop and even your porch steps.

You can decide how creepy you want your spiders to be or put a comical spin on them and make the spiders look outlandishly goofy. Creepy, crawly critters of the eight-legged variety make some people freak out. You can only hope your spider Halloween decoration does the same!

It seems that they are a new crop of superheroes for the teeny bopper set. Based on a popular DC comic book series and now on the Cartoon Network, they are your typical kids riddled with teenage angst that just happen to fight the bad guys with their unique special powers.

If you would like to seem cool in the eyes of your kids when they ask for a Teen Titans Halloween costume, read on about this motley crew of teenagers that combat crime and evil villains. Conspiracy theories about taking over the Earth and alien invasions are just a few of the battles they have fought.

Two girls and three guys make for this dynamic team for superheroes. Robin is the leader of the pack and his fin acrobatic skills and agility serve him well. He thinks fast on his feet and shows no fear. Raven is a goth girl. She's a little creepy and likes to keep to herself. Oh, and she can control inanimate objects with her mind.

A few more contenders for a possible Teen Titans Halloween Costume are Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy. Cyborg is half human and half machine, thanks to a horrifying accident. Starfire is not of this Earth. She's a newbie in the ways of an Earthling, but is sweet, charming and throws a heck of an energy bolt from her eyes and fingers. Beast Boy is a mischievous little green guy who can transform into any animal he chooses, including those that no longer exist — like a dinosaur.

Parents, your teenagers can probably relate to these characters because they deal with everyday teenage issues. They are still learning about themselves and worrying about how they fit in with the rest of society. By choosing a Teen Titans Halloween costume, your kids can step into the role of superhero and feel empowered and ready to take on the world.

So who will your daughter pick? Starfire or Raven? A Starfire Teen Titans Halloween Costume is adorable with knee high purple boots and purple tunic dress, both with electric blue trim. Raven's look is a little ghoulish with a floor length purple hooded cape, purple boots and a black and gray jumpsuit.

A Cyborg Teen Titans Halloween costume has some body armor since he is half human and half machine. His face is partially covered with a "mechanical" mask. Beast Boy is comical with his green skin, purple jumpsuit and black boots and gloves. Robin, the acrobatic wonder boy, has a costume with a yellow cape, green pants and sleeves and a red, yellow and black tunic.
